We have a well-equipped laboratory at our practice which allows us to perform many necessary diagnostic tests within minutes while you wait – this can often mean the difference between life and death in an emergency or life-threatening disease. We have a microscope which allows us to analyse blood smears and aspirates from tumours; we can analyse urine and faecal samples for infections, parasites and various medical diseases; we make use of snap tests to diagnose the more serious viral diseases like Feline Leukemia Virus, Feline Aids and Canine Parvovirus and we have an IDEXX Catalyst serum chemistry machine which can give us in-depth information about your pet’s organ function, glucose, protein and electrolyte levels from a small blood sample.
