The specialist medicine vet Dr Nagel recommended Dr Ryan and Dr Trevor at Waterkloof Animal Hospital for my dog Oxley as he had just been diagnosed with Addison’s disease.

I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and assistance I have found at Waterkloof Animal Hospital while we figure out how to help my dog. They have gone out of their way to ensure that Oxley gets back to normal and lives a full life again. We have been able to return to our obedience classes, we have competed in a Rally show, and received his Canine Good Citizen bronze certificate.

Thank you for giving me back my goofy, energetic loveable dog!

My seven-year-old miniature Poodle had been having issues with both her knees for some time. Dr Ryan explained that Medial Patella Luxation is a common problem in miniature poodles and best would be to have it surgically repaired to prevent pain and arthritis later in life. I planned to have her one knee fixed in December and the other one in February but she sustained an additional knee injury last week. I consulted Dr Trevor on Monday and Dr Ryan operated her knee on Tuesday. The care she received was wonderful and her post-operative medication and management were explained to me in detail. Thank you so much for your wonderful service! I can recommend Dr Ryan and Dr Trevor and the rest of the staff at Waterkloof Animal Hospital to all animal lovers.

I have been a homeowner in Waterkloof since 1990. Much more importantly, I am a pet owner and have been a grateful client of Waterkloof Animal Hospital for almost thirty years. Throughout the last three decades my dogs have received the finest care from the above facility. From routine vaccinations and general care to emergency interventions, my pets and I have received the most outstanding service and empathy. Luminescent integrity, kindness, professional skill across the board and thoroughly up to date veterinary knowledge characterize Waterkloof Animal Hospital. I recommend this facility unreservedly.

I’ve been a client of Waterkloof Animal Hospital since 1987 and thus been through a few decades of staff members and so far 3 generations of Labrador retrievers, which I use not only for company, but also in my work. I have appreciated the professionalism of both the former owner Dr. Selma van Schouwenburg, and the present doctors, who were wisely introduced by Selma, realising that not even she would last forever! One feels that everyone at the clinic has a passion for what they are doing, and show genuine concern when our dogs are not well, and share our delight when we introduce new generations of Labradors and even a new dog species to the country. When I had the bad luck of losing a dog, the staff went out of their way to trace it via social media, and contacting colleagues, something which I very much appreciated.

I cannot thank Waterkloof Animal Hospital enough for all their wonderful care for my various little Italian Greyhounds over the years (more than 12 years and 3 dogs). I know my dogs are in safe hands and receive the best veterinary care from kind and caring doctors and staff. The vets have been there when times have been fun, and when times have been tough and through it all, their care and professionalism has been wonderful. I cannot imagine taking my dogs anywhere else for treatment.

Our initial visit to Waterkloof Animal Hospital in 1998 was for our newly adopted, two puppies’ first vaccinations. We had recently moved to Pretoria and were really lucky to find this rather special and welcoming Veterinary Practice.

We have been privileged, over the past 22 years, to have our dearly-loved dogs, ranging from a gentle giant of 55kg to a busy little 5kg one (our son & daughter-in-law’s doggie which we were dog-sitting at the time) attended to by the caring veterinarians and staff there. They have gone through the joys and the heartaches of our dogs’ routine check-ups, their ailments, their recovery and ultimately, their sad, final farewells. We have the utmost respect and appreciation for every staff member’s expertise but even more, we deeply appreciate the gentle concern and love shown to our animals, and the sincere sympathy to ourselves, by every member of the staff: the Veterinarians, the Sisters, the receptionists and general assistants included.

Perhaps more telling is the excitement and happiness exuded by especially our large dog, when he realised he was going to the Vet. In the car and whilst in the waiting room and surgery, he just couldn’t stop “vocalising” and wagging his tail.  We think this is the biggest compliment for a Veterinary Practice and testimony to their mission when their “clients” are so happy to see them.

For well over twenty eight years I have entrusted the care of my dogs to the veterinary practice and surgeons at Waterkloof Animal Hospital. At all times, over these years, I can attest to the exceptional, professional and compassionate assistance my animals have received. The Waterkloof Animal Hospital is well managed, a pleasure to visit and a haven for those who have the best interest of their animals at heart.

For nineteen years and nearly nineteen cats, the staff at Waterkloof Animal Hospital have cared for our cats – and helped us through the crises!…You were also there to shepherd us through the process of taking the five cats to the Middle East and bringing them back when we had to come home sooner than anticipated. You worked with Russian, Indian and Omani vets in Muscat and Qatar and our cats came home, delighted and in fine fettle. We always tell friends that the cats travelled first class and we went economy! But there is nothing economy class about WAH or its staff; it is first class all the way. May Waterkloof Animal Hospital and all the wonderful people who care for our animals, and us as well, go from strength to strength.

Waterkloof Animal Hospital is my go-to veterinary hospital, and I have used their services since 1999. Over the years, I have trusted the veterinarians at this practice to treat my dogs and cats, and I have never felt that anyone else could have done better. At this practice, my animals are treated with empathy, they are thoroughly examined and I am satisfied with the efficacy of the treatments prescribed. Unless I relocated, I would never consider going elsewhere.

This veterinary practice is outstanding! The staff are all so friendly, caring, extremely knowledgeable and professional. We are deeply grateful for the marvelous treatment they’ve given all our pets over the last 30 years.
